How to manage your daily menu

As a housewife, one of daily chore is cooking. We eat three times a day, and that is such a big effort to cook it daily. Not like work or school which have one-two days off, cooking must be done every day, of course because we eat every day. Even when we are fasting, we still eat at sahur and break-fast at Maghrib. Sometimes we are difficult to decide what to cook for the day. The decision that should be take daily will get easier by one of my following tips.

1. Arrange monthly menus
If you are busy and still have to cook at home due to diet program or prefer your own cook than that sold outside, this may help you.
Just make different menus for each day and repeat it until you reach 30 days full of arranged menus. There you won't confuse anymore deciding the menu for the day. I also try this tips once. As a newbie in a cooking world, I can only cook a little menu. So I listed all the meal I can cook, both dishes and vegetable cooking. After that, I made a table, 30 days column with three empty slots for each day. Then I put randomly my listed meal on the slots, that will complete menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner.. My arrangement also considering sufficient nutrients and vitamin for a day, balance in “4 sehat 5 sempurna” guide. And don’t forget to avoid same menus between two close days.  

2. Using a pinwheel
Another fun way to decide the cook is by using pin wheel. Just make a simple pin wheel, fill the option part with family’s favorite menu. And when you are going to cook, ask one of your family member to spin the wheel and let the wheel decide the menu for the day. Don’t forget to update the menu list to avoid the boredom.

3. Using a white board
You can also put a small white-board at the living room or the kitchen. Write down some optional menu, and ask your family to check the one they want to eat that day. Or just let them write the menu themselves. It is easier, yet we still not sure if the ingredients is available. If not, just give yourself some refreshing and go shopping. Yeay!

4. What you can found at the grocery shop
The very unplanned day is when you don’t know what to cook, and yet you still have to cook. Just go to the nearest grocery store. By looking at the fresh vegetable or various ingredients may help you to imagine the meal you would make. Even sometimes this method make you confuse at the place that inspire you to cook almost everything. Though, this method can trigger your creativeness, don’t they?

5.  Try new recipes
For those who has adventurous personality, trying something new is a fun. Nowadays we can access the internet for million recipe available. Even for a meal we’ve never heard before. Just make sure you got all the ingredients needed, and have fun. This method has some risk, though, like unsuitable taste. But a success one give us more self-confidence to try another one.
